Global Competitiveness of Trade in the West Coast of Sumatra from the Perspective of the Agglomeration of Economic Approach

The main aim of this study is to analysed the pattern agglomeration trade flows in city Padang and Teluk Bayur Port with regencies cities along west coast Sumatra, as well factors that influence them. How competitive flow West region compared East Sumatra. analytical approach used spatial econometrics, especially lag model error model. data volume loading unloading inter-island foreign ships at other districts 133 areas on Coast 155 economic corridors results showed variable had no significant effect existence City centre corridor area Our findings are have not been able encourage contrary there connections Therefore, accelerate process through flows, joint policies needed agricultural sector Sumatran facing global market competition, strengthening inter-regional internal markets Sumatra corridor, commodity transactions between which must be strengthened, so compete a market.
